More recently I've been spending time in the forests again and it's inspired me to revisit this idea

Inspired by Saint Mary Lake in Glacier National Park

but at that point I was into the foreground and was able to tie my work into the previous layer even though it was starting to tense up a bit in consistency

Blue-winged Teal Painting - "Red Rock Blue-wings" 10x7 Landscapes More recently I've been spending"Red Rock Blue wings" About this painting: This scene was from a day one summer spent near the Red Rock River in Southwest Montana. The refuge there rears thousands of waterfowl each year and is a major stop over and wintering grounds for many of the Northern birds migrating downward each fall. I captured the background in a similar photo and knew I had to depict this scene with a couple blue winged teal coming in to land. Specifics: 10x7" on board.
