measures 7 5/8" x 4 5/8" and is in great condition

I have found just a couple of other old carved folk art monkeys with a similar construction--seated like this

I just picked up six of these brilliantly colorful pattern paintings on lightweight board and think they are just gorgeous

I'll place under some weight to flatten in the meantime

and would guess this dates to around WW2--but I think they can read as comrades of many sorts
